What makes Warung tekko short ribs different is that they boil their ribs for 6 hours before you season and fry them. This makes the meat very tender and also it sits on top of the 'cobek' rock bowl with fresh hand grinded chilli paste. The good thing about Warung Tekko is that they don't shallow fry their chilli paste, thus you get to taste the freshness of the chilli paste that goes so well with the tender fried short ribs. Since all Indonesian are masters at devouring chillies, at Warung Tekko you get to pick which out of the 3 level of intensity in which you wish to burn your tongue. Now you can understand the logic why their refill ice teas are served in one of the most massive glasses we have encountered.

Their standard dish is the Iga Penyet, which is fried short rib with fresh muddles chillies. But if you want to try something more delicious then you should get your hands on IgaOtot penyet that comes with the fried tendon that simply dissolves in your mouth. Warung Tekko also has a hearty variety of seafood, chicken, Duck, noodles and vegetables dishes that is equally mouth-watering. Of course all of these dishes incorporate the famous 'penyet' versions but some are served in a traditional way for those who don’' fancy red chillies smothered all over their main course. Their Nasi Bakar stuffed with anchovies and wrapped in banana leaves is simply the best way to accompany the fiery short ribs dishes.

Service is immaculate here and the traditional wooden and calm ambience of this place makes Warung Tekko an enjoyable place for all. Beware though we must warn you that during lunch time, this place is packed as like meat market.
