Takarajima has always served up some fresh and delicious casual Japanese dishes but their branch in Cipete in particular is quite 'little'. First of all, this place is located on the ground floor of a Ruko and by little, we mean a maximum of 25 people seated. However, what they lack in size, they make up for in their ambience, the place feels so cozy that you just want to sit there for ages, even if you are sitting down on your own. The combination of the confined space and the freshness and small portion sizes makes their tiniest location in Cipete arguably better than their other branches. I guess its true that one eats with their eyes as well as their mouth.

 The overall range of menu at Takarajima is really satisfying as they serve a good selection of soups, salad, noodles and popular ala carte items such as Katsu and curry. Their Bento set menu is also a favorite as it comes with vegetables, miso soup, rice and different choices of protein.

 For those who enjoy their Sushi, the restaurant offers some seriously delicious and creative options and their favorite amongst their customers has to be the spicy Volcano Crunchy roll as the combination of fresh salmon and crab with spicy toasted mayonnaise on top is addictive. In addition, it is served with shaved Tobiko on top. Another unique choice has to be the one named after the pop star, Lady Gaga where the kooky sushi is filled with tempura crab-sticks, egg, cucumber and topped with a generous portion of Chuka Wakame. The freshness of the Wakame and the crunchy tempura filling makes this dish a delight. They also offer some really amazing Sushi Set menus for 4 at an alarmingly affordable price, which is really good for those wanting to share. Another dish great for sharing has to be the Mini Shabu-Shabu where you get a choice of Seafood or Beef. You can definitely taste the savory delicious broth of the Shabu-Shabu and it is really a filling dish.
