From the team that brought Anatolia (Turkish) and Front page restaurants, Maroush is one of the most successful establishments in Jakarta due to their invariable perfection in delivering not only amazing Middle Eastern food but also being able to provide an amazing experiential dining experience.

It was very hard for us to take focus away from their amazing interior of exotic chandeliers, stained glasses and majestic portraits and start concentrating solely on the food. For starters we suggest the Maroush’s mix plates for starters as it comes with a generous portion of warm lavas bread and 4 dips that are just mouth-wateringly good! The hummus drizzled in olive oil and baba ganoush is sure to be a favourite but the char grilled paprika salad and the spiced eggplant dip was simply the cherry on top. We would also highly recommend the baked zucchini that comes out in 5 bite sizes that is rested on juicy oven baked paprika. The baked zucchini is truly a flavour that you can savour at each bite.

For the main course we recommend the Tagine, which is a slow cooked stew, cooked in low temperatures for a long time in a clay pot which makes the meat very tender and also very aromatic at the same time. We opted to go with the chef’s recommendation of Tagine Ighanmi Bechria, which is a very tender lamb shank thrown in with morocco spices, almonds and the key ingredient, figs. The combination of the sweet and nectarous figs and crunchy almonds with the very tender lamb shank is truly divine and the juice from the meat is simply delicious.

Maroush is perfect for events and private parties as they offer amazing packages and when you see their themed private room, you would definitely want to make use of it. This place is truly a hidden gem.
