Editorial Review
Located on the second floor of a famous Korean BBQ house in the SCBD area, Chicken Phong categories themselves as a pub for chicken lovers. That to us is an awfully good start as that means beer and food are already sorted. But upon entering Chicken Phong, you cannot help but feel that you are suddenly transported to another country, to be exact, South Korea. The loud and welcoming greeting in the Korean language, then the K-pop music videos blaring on their flat screens, that 80 percent of their customers are all Koreans, and even their menu is dominated with Korean words. But not to worry, as the visual photos in their menu read it loud and clear that at this joint, you can make an array of good tasting chicken.
At Chicken Phong, expect your chicken to be served in many different ways- fried, steamed, baked, sauced, with rice or pasta, in a hot plate, in a salad or even served as a soup.
One of their special menu items is the Nude Oven Chicken. The chicken parts are baked using hot air so most of the oil drips out from the skin, yet still leaving the chicken very tender and flavorful. It is also slightly peppery which goes well with a skull of beer.
But if you are opting for a more zingy flavor, such as with a pungent of garlic and sweet and spicy sauce, we recommend their Spicy BBQ sauce. Either way whether you like your chicken Barbecued, Teriyaki or Nude Oven way of cooking, you get with your choice of legs, wings or mixed parts. With an extra charge of Rp10,000, you will get a generous portion of salad. They also serve fried chicken with your choice of spicy to mild flavors.
As for their best serving beverage, it is of course- Beer. Thus, if you are not in a mood for a heavy meal, Chicken Phong also serve several dry snacks and light meals to accompany your cold beers. They also serve the traditional Korean beverage, Soju and Korean sweet wine.
The best thing about this place, is that all of their international dishes are incorporated to the liking of Asian palette. Which is spicy, peppery and sweet. With their generous portions and excellent service this place is definitely worth a visit.
