Editorial Review
The SCBD area is rapidly growing beyond that of a typical business district and is attracting culinary and night clubbing enthusiasts like moths to an ever-growing flame. Within this SCBD, is the ex-Bengkel club area which is not only sprouting restaurants, clubs, cafes and also various hobby and merchandise stores but is also hosting popular weekend events. One of the venues that has been garnering the most attention among party goers has to be the Fable nightclub. On the weekends you can expect to see the young and arguably the most well-off people in Jakarta, walk into this club with the bottles of spirits and mixers set on their tables.
The entrance to Fable is reminiscent of a stone cave set prop right out of a fantasy movie, which opens up to a dark yet stylishly designed and obviously packed nightclub with people focused on just having fun and letting their hair down.
During different times of the day, you can sense the various vibes and moods of Fable, and here we will show you how to make the most of your time here. In the afternoon till about sunset, we recommend that you relax in their outdoor seating area to enjoy the twilight with some pre-dinner appetisers and sample their delicious and original cocktails. Afterwards, head into their dining area and you will be spoilt for choice with an array of international dishes to chose from. From there, you can work off your dinner and forget about your stressors and move straight on to the dance floor around midnight.
Once you are swayed away from the crowd watching, focus on looking at the cocktail menus as their signature cocktails are really fine The Fable Royal Mojito is one that caught our attention as it has a witty idea of compensating the soda on the top with a splash of Prosecco and Creme De Cassis. This is quite the flirty drink and not overly empowering, and who would ever turn down a well made Mojito? For more flirty cocktails we recommend also the heavenly goodness of a nutella cocktail rightly called Nutella Passiona and also the Queen of Hearts. Fable also has some good selection of champagne cocktails and also excellent German beers, and you can be sure you will not be thirsty here.
It is located on the second floor. No elevator, so if you wear long skirt and high heels, please be careful. The seating arrangement is actually really good. They're not cramped, so you can move easily. In the middle were sofas (each table had 2 big sofas and two small sofas, the small ones look like a pair of giant foot rests), around them were bar chairs. When I came at 8 PM, there were only a few people. Talking was very easy, no need to yell to be heard. After 9 PM, people started coming in and around 9.30 PM, there were a band performing live music. Their music choice wasn't bad, consisted of old songs which wouldn't make your ears bleed. I accepted their kind of music.
The food was good. For me, the portion was just right; not too big, but not too small either. The price was quite expensive, from 65,000 to 325,000, but what do you expect anyway? I ordered the wagyu burger, it was served in a big portion and the beef tasted really good. My friends ordered fish and chips, salmon something, and cot fish something. They all looked nice and no one complained about the taste.
The service was also good. Their waiters were waiting everywhere, so you won't get any difficulty in calling them. The staffs in the front desk were also nice. One female staff was very helping in helping us take pictures.
What I hate about Fairgrounds was only their parking system. I paid double - when I first parked and when I wanted to go home - each IDR 10,000 to two different people. The first one looked like a proper 'tukang parkir', the second one looked like a thug. Fairgrounds should consider making a parking lot!
