Kedai Kopi Kemang (Closed)

If you are feeling a bit weary and need to chill out in the Kemang area, pop by Kedai Kopi Kemang located in Kemang Sealtan. This place resembles vintage Indonesian home, more like someplace your parents would live, with wooden furniture and comfortable vintage batik sofa from Solo. They serve original Indonesian dishes from coffees, food and snacks.

Kedai Kopi Kemang brews a special traditional coffee drinks produced from many regions of Indonesia such as Aceh, Mandailing, Kawista, Java, Sumatra. But the highest in demand currently is the Sumba Coffee as it has a thick texture. The flavor is very light and has a bitter aftertaste.

Kedai Kopi Kemang is divided into 2 floors. For those who smoke can sit on the 2nd floor. The drinks are made on the 1st floor which is a non-smoking area, so it does not interfere with the coffee aroma.

While enjoying their array of traditional coffees, don't forget to try their traditional Indonesian food. The Bihun Cakalang from Manado was quite impressive, and is served with a generous portion and sprinkles of cakalang that is undeniably delicious. Mie Goreng Jawa Javanese is also very filling with a spectacular burst of original flavor.

For desserts we recommend the unique Apel Wijen (Sesame Apple) and Nanas Goreng (Fried Pineapple). Both apple and pineapple are deep fried with flour and covered with sesame seeds for Apel Wijen and a sprinkling of cinnamon powder for Nanas Goreng.

At the end of your meal you are aware that the mission of Kedai Kopi Kemang is to re-introduce the richness of Indonesian coffee and cuisines in a traditionally and simple way, without the whole pretentious concept and commercialization that we are used to or find in an over-priced, uptown coffee shop.
