QQ Kopitiam

At 10 am you can expect QQ Kopitiam to be packed with people either finishing up their breakfast, enjoying their morning cigarettes or catching up with some friends over some sweet kaya toast. The mood and sights at QQ Kopitiam capture the essence of the ideal way most South East Asians have breakfast everyday.

Your morning dose of 'Teh Tarik' and Kopi'O' Hot are available. But why not start your day with a very refreshing Barley Peng that is served with a slice of fresh lime? Or even a Milo dinosaur, which kind of speaks for itself what to expect form this drink. The Set Menu for breakfast at QQ Kopitiam is the Asian equivalent to the big English Breakfast; a strong cup of coffee or teh tarik, served with layers of kaya and butter toast and of course the 2 soft boiled Kampung eggs! The eggs are cracked open and served in a large shot glass. Drizzle a bit of soy sauce in it, add a pinch of pepper and just gulp it down, and there you can say that you have had a good Brekkie, Asian style!

For lunch and dinner, QQ Kopitiam is a haven for Singaporean style hawker food lovers. From Mie, Kwetiau, Fried Rice and even the odd chicken steak. The dish that has been serving Jakartans well is the Horfun Daging Kepiting. The flat rice noodle comes served in a hot plate with chunks of crab meat and fish balls, and is a great dish to kill the hunger pangs. The fresh hand-shredded crab meat is slightly sweet and delicious, and tastes just as good in their crab fried rice dish as well. Another favourite item is the Mie Kangkung Terasi, a spicy fish paste noodle served piping hot and ready to be munched down.

Overall, QQ Kopitiam is a great hang out place for a hearty home cooked Asian meal at anytime of the day and it is a wonderful place to dine especially with a very cool, breezy open air environment.
