Aphrodite

There are not many decent sports bars in Jakarta and many who claim they are, usually only have one or two pathetic screens to the inconvenience of many, especially on game nights. Well the 'Blok' (Blok M) is a favorite for many wishing to catch some live 'sport' but there is no other like Aphrodite we believe, apart from her sister 'Fez Bar' in Kemang, that offer both quality entertainment and equally good food and beverages.

Its location, Club Rasuna building, behind Pasar Festival, Kuningan is the destination for both expats and seasonal Jakartans. LCD TVs in almost every corner and to top it all off, they even have a projector screen for those special matches. Customers can come and enjoy a variety of sport such as Rugby, football/soccer, tennis and many more. You will also be pleased to know that upon request, broadcasts on every screen can be adjusted to show different sports at the same time. Two pool tables are available without charge to customers and their 'winner stays' regulation gives a chance to everyone to pot a few shots. There isn't a DJ though but rather a carefully selected playlist of R&B, Classic Disco and rock to entertain you during half time or when there is nothing to watch.

Aphrodite's special drink is the Blue River, a mix of Chivas, Martini Dry, Blue Curacci, Lime Cordial and Pineapple juice. Another is Grave Yard essentially Bourbon, Rum, Tequila, Gin, Triple Sec, and Martini, but perhaps due to our resistance to strong alcohol we felt that it was not quite like what death would taste like, though the burning sensation could be described as a bit harsh. Something a bit more fresh would have to be the MMC, a mix of Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Rum, Triple Sec, Orange, Pineapple and blue curasao.

Those of you wishing to have a bite will find an array of western and Asian cuisines on their menu. Perfect for those who wish to enjoy sport in company of a great crowd!
