Barbecue lovers in Jakarta, you are in for a treat!!! Straight from the barbecue haven of St.Louis, Smoking Joe's has brought the authentic memphis style Barbecue to J-Town.

Located in the exclusive office building at Mega Kuningan, Smoking Joe's mix of upscale atmosphere and good 'ol barbecue servings is surely mixing well with the picky Jakartan public.

Once you have settled in and stopped drooling over the whiff of smokey barbecue meat and poultry as you enter, we suggest that you start off with a sweet punch. Joe's Punch is divine, especially when you sip through and you get a taste of the itsy-bitsy pieces of fresh passionfruit and bananas. Weird combination I know, but it does work!!

For starters, your choices are many. From natural potato chips that come with their famous barbecue sauce, to nachos (pork or beef) and of course, their hot buffalo chicken wings that come with either a ranch or blue cheese dip.

Whenever we visit Smoking Joe's, we know which page of the menu we go straight for- the Entrees. Their perfectly smoked and dry rubbed meat is very tender and scrumptious especially our favourite, the smoked chicken. When you slice through the poultry, the white meat is slightly tainted pink due to the perfectly 'smoked' session it has gone through.

Their platters of pulled (hand shredded) pork or chicken, beef brisket, smoked chicken and pork ribs are rubbed with Smoking Joe's famous St.Louis rub, and with their special ingredients of spices and herbs, they are all too delicious for words. If you cannot quite decide what you want, go for the Taste of Smoking Joe's, where you will be served up with ¼ (2-3 people to share) or ½ (3-4 people to share) of all of their meat and poultry goodness, with your choice of 2 regular sides, which could be the scrumptious and crispy sweet potato fries, baked beans, corn on the cob and so much more.

If you are in the mood for an extra treat, go for their premium sides which is the Macaroni & Cheese. None of that neon-orange-fake cheese and macaroni twirl pasta in this premium side, rather it is perfectly cooked Conchiglie aka 'shells' or 'seashells' pasta will a generous amount of good quality cheese, seasoning and eggs that has been baked in the oven.Would you believe it is only Rp, 35,000 for this Mac and cheese, Unbelievably good!

Vegetarians you do not need to stay clear of this place as they serve up some fresh salad such as the Arugla Salad, soups, grilled veggie platter, Haloumi Cheese Sandwich and so much more.

Also any good barbecue joint will have to serve pork, but those looking for Halal food, Smoking Joe's is certified Halal because they use separate kitchen and utensils for pork and non pork dishes.
