Well for those seeking a hidden gem, head on over to Kemang and find the most gorgeous little cafe called Sala. The cafe has 2 floor and a basement with various intimate spaces where privacy at the same time comfort is guaranteed. In the dining area upstairs the floor is carpeted with a replica of a grass and the basement area where the bar is located is decorated in a dim light with comfy sofas.

Nevertheless Sala is not the type of cafe where you just order a ice lemon tea and leave, Sala actually offers a really good selection of dishes especially for those who like their mussels as a whooping kilo of steamed mussels are served with 6 different flavors to choose from. From the classic white wine base, Mariniere to the unique twist of Saos padang, the mussels are fresh and aesthetically pleasing as it is served in a copper pan and accompanied with chunks of fried potatoes.

We feel that this healthy pan of mussels is a great way to start your meal at Sala, as you will also be proud to know that every mussels you have at Sala is sourced locally from Ambonese fishermen a great way in supporting local produce.

For the main course we hear that their steaks are always a good choice. But we decided to try their Lamb Tagine which instantly became our favorite. TheTagine is served with a very rich tomato base and also sweet dried prunes and apricot. The meat falls off the bone easily and you must definitely suck the marrow off the bone using your fingers. A real delight!

Definitely one of the most likeable venue in Kemang!
