Who doesn't recognise the Rolling Stones? And we don't mean the Rolling Stones with the infamous thick-lipped lead singer, we mean the monthly magazine that is in your news-stand covering the evolution of music and pop culture for the past 5 decades. If you have passed by the main road at Ampera, you will notice a remarkable glass building that has 'Retro' written all over it, largely thanks to the red and black leather interior. But once you go to their stage area, you feel like you have been transported to Bali with all those Hindu figurines, black and white tiled floors which resemble the 'saput poleng' and a garden filled with frangipani trees. It is no wonder that, aside from the rock concerts they hold ritually, there are also a few matrimonial ceremonies held here as well.
As for their food, like any International chain restaurant, they cover dishes which are mainly American, Mexican and in this case, some local delicacies. Thus it is always good to order the steaks, ribs or burgers and the Rolling Stone Café certainly does not disappoint. We recommend the Rolling Stones U.S Sirloin which you can chow down on either the 5oz or the 10 oz cuts. We also recommend the Hot Dog that is served in a decent size with sides. For desserts , you will get an assortment of choices from Panacotta, bread pudding and cheesecake. But the winning dessert has to be their home-made Warm Brownies.
A bit of a warning for cocktail lovers, their Joke to Joke Cocktail is a potent mix of over 15 types of spirits and liqueurs topped up with lime juice and cranberry juice. Make sure you have a designated driver available if you decide to venture into having this cocktail. Good luck!
