When you are in the mood for a non-pretentious, homey and just a really simple soulful place, Plan B located at the Rukan Permata Senayan is as charming as it gets. We reckon it is one of the coziest cafés in Senayan and if you love good, authentic Spanish food, then this venue ticks all the right boxes. 

It may be their interesting deco of laminated newspapers as their wall paper, or just the well-organized layout of the place, but what is definite is the magnetism and cheerful service of the staff and Chef Oskar that really builds the comfortable ambience of this place. No matter how many courses you order, you can be sure that at least one of your dishes will be served personally by Chef Oskar, whose charm and hospitality is one of the key trademarks of this venue. The regulars look forward to his presence, while the new-comers feel overwhelmingly welcomed. This is quite evident when you pop by Plan B on a regular weekday for lunch and this place is packed with vast amount of patrons (mostly female) who can’t wait to talk to the chef and at the same time drink their pitchers of Sangria.

Food wise, Plan B is place may be an authentic Spanish restaurant, but they also serve some good Italian and Mediterranean foods.

The winning points of this venue have to be the freshness of their ingredients and their great service. For instance, their Octopus Galician style, served in a bed of mashed potato is another simple dish that is done just right due to the fresh ingredients and well balanced seasoning. The mashed potato mimics the consistency of the Polynesian staple dish Poi, which is creamy and starchy.

Although it takes 20 minutes to prepare the Paella, we definitely recommend you do not miss out on this dish when you are at Plan B. You get to choose from the classic Seafood Paella, Meat, Vegetables and also the much loved Black Squid Ink Paella. The rice is cooked perfectly and the rich golden color of the rice, thanks to the saffron makes this dish even more appetizing. If you wish to exchange the rice with some macaroni looking pasta, then the Fideua is also a delight, especially with the savoury beef chorizo.
