You wouldn't expect that a house with a colonial facet with worn out old orange roofing, baring close resemblance to a Dutch dignitaries home during the era of occupation, to be actually a restaurant. You wouldn't expect that a house with a colonial facet with worn out old orange roofing, baring close resemblance to a Dutch dignitaries home during the era of occupation, to be actually a restaurant. Well who would when all you see initially, is its name and logo advertised with no mention of their services. There is sufficient reason for their camouflage as this suspiciously luxurious establishment is recognized as the place for ambassadorial gatherings. Well after investigating further, it turns out that Bunga Rampai is an Indonesian fine-dining restaurant promoting real Indonesian cuisine and probably the best looking of its kind as you will see that there was an obvious amount of hard work put in to their branding.
The name Bunga Rampai is taken from the Indonesian term of assorted flowers such as the arrangements of jasmine, rose and frangipani commonly used for special occasions. It is therefore not surprising that as you enter you will notice a range of flowers and plants illustrated in art form, used to embellish the botanical theme in every corner, from the chairs, sofas, plates, tables and also the walls of this lavish interior. Bunga Rampai is carefully divided into 6 luxuriously furnished rooms with the comfort of privacy in each. Therefore perfect for a wedding function or a private family gathering, for those with money to spend of course. Who could afford this place? Well let us say that we were amongst the lucky few who did that day.
Now for their menu, we started of with their popular starter the Kembang Pacar (an oriental favorite served with a tropical island twist) essentially steamed Prawn hand wrapped in spring roll served with Sweet and Sour sauce. For soup we went for their Asam-Asam Laut (Sour seafood) which was an absolutely delicious blend of both spicy and sour broth served over fresh prawns, Clams, Mussels and Red Snapper and enough for two. Our main course followed suite! Dendeng Rumahan (Crispy fried spicy beef with sweet and sour red chili sauce), Kangkung Balacan, spinach sauteed with ground chili and finely ground ebi. Tumis Jagung Muda Tomat Hijau Ikan Asin, Sauteed baby corn with green cherry tomato and salted fish. Almost done now! Lastly an Indonesian staple to accompany every meal, some white rice, though customers can also opt for red rice if they like. With enough room to spare and not wanting to miss out on anything, we ordered for a bowl of Es Tape ketan Hijau, a desert that is essentially grated ice served with tape, jack fruit, and coconut. Fnally our choice of Japanese Green tea at the end was perfect to wrap up the elaborate and also memorable culinary adventure at Bunga Rampai.
Customers will have to make reservations first before making their way over, as this place is often fully booked for diplomatic lunches or dinners, especially during the holidays.

yaah sayang banget aku ga sempet fotoin makanannya. Untuk restonya suasana jaman dulu udah kentara banget dari depan bikin kita ngerasa nyaman. kalo menu andalan buat aku yaitu tahu telornya yang lucu disusun kaya tower dan udang madani saos spesial. untuk harga buat aku agak mahal ya he he tapi worth it kok dengan apa yang aku dapet. always be my favorite place to dinner
