Character and theme are arguably two of the most important factors to consider when opening a cafe in Kemang, as the variety of competing restaurants, cafe and various food venues available along the Kemang strip mean that one has to be creative, inventive and perhaps a little bit daring to be able to stand out amongst the crowd.

So amidst the overwhelming plethora of restaurants available in Jakarta, with their over-the -top interiors and fancy named dishes, one can become a little bit jaded when another new 'hip' joint opens, and as you know how the saying goes "Once you seen one, you've really seen them all". And with this in mind, once you hear that there is yet another new kid on the block called �Alcoholics� with their motto being �The Only Place where you can eat alcohol�, you figure as usual that, again this is going to be one of those over pretentious bars with deconstructed mambo-jambo cocktails.

It is to our ultimate relief, that here at Alcoholics, they actually serve proper cocktails and really delicious food, except unlike other places, all of their dishes have to have the one key ingredient in them; alcohol. Upon learning this, we had died and gone to heaven, figuratively speaking of course. Think Wine, Brandy, Jack Daniel�s, Beer, Southern Comfort, Tequila and they even have a whole chicken stuffed with a can of beer! This is their signature dish, and it is something that you have to try to believe it. The reason why this dish is so popular is that the steamy can of beer which is stuffed in the chicken makes the chicken meat wonderfully moist and at the same time, the skin dry roasting on the outside.

We also recommend that you try the Guinness mini burgers comprising of 3 bite sized hamburgers using prime Australian minced beef and like their name suggests, they are infused with Guinness. These burgers are delicious and they are juicy little buggers indeed. Overall, they offer an array of �alcoholic� pizzas, bar snacks, desserts and steak and since they are all infused with different types of alcohol, the flavours of each and every dish are certainly enhanced and make a unique offering for any culinary adventurists.

Moving onto their beverages, if you want to give something from their cocktail list to try, we recommend the Toasted Almond Martini Amaretto Kahlua and Milk. The texture is absolutely striking, as it is not to sweet and a major plus, it just looks gorgeous! If you want to get into something fun, try the original Bob Marley shots.
