There are millions of delicious Chinese and dim sum restaurants to choose from in Jakarta, so how come Din Tai Fung manages to position itself to be one of the most successful Chinese restaurants in Jakarta? (this is evident by the fact that on the weekends it is virtually impossible to find an empty seat). With over 5 decades of successful track records in terms of their food and service behind their back, Din Tai Fung is a place for the family to enjoy authentic Chinese food. The New York Times voted them as one of the TOP 10 Restaurants in the world with restaurants located in Taiwan, Japan, USA, Australia, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, China and Indonesia.
Their specialty, their juicy and carefully crafted Dumplings! One of their most celebrated dishes is the Xiau Long Bao with a warm vegetable/chicken stock flowing into your mouth once you take a bite out of them. There are two kinds of Xiau Long Bao: with chicken and with crab. We chose the Xiau Long Bao with Chicken and crab seasoning. There are of course choices of more delicious options for dumplings such as the Jiao Ze.
Besides their famous dumplings they also offer delectable noodles. Beloved is their Cha Jiang sauce noodles or Cha Jiang Noodle. This food is dry because the broth is its seasoning. Besides Dumpling and Noodles. We also tried their Salted fish fried rice (Nasi goreng ikan asin) and the Udang Goreng Telur Asin (sauteed Prawn with salted egg yolk) which did not disappoint. These dishes maybe a bit too savory for those who are not used to the salted eggs and fish.
A signature design of this restaurant is their open kitchen. Behind the glass mirror, we can see local and international chefs crafting and steaming their fresh mouth-watering dumpling and noodles. This restaurant represents wood nuance with wood partition and tables so it feels like Chinese style. This dining- room is divided up by glass partitions so that people who are walking around can see us eating there.

my mom loves dumplings so we go to din t** fung quite alot but recently we realise they have other many delicious dishes too. normally our favs are xiao long bao, nasi goreng udang and cha jiang noodles but these days i am in love with the black pepper beef and wun tun pedas. my little brother likes the bbq chicken dumpling. i think its a new dish.my sis love the Golden Lava bun, with salted egg custard oozing. Yummy combination with salty and sweetness. my fav dessert is the mango pudding....i think they won award for that too
