Since its establishment, Metis has obtained international recognition on numerous occasions for their astounding French Mediterranean cuisine. Metis surely puts the fine in fine dining, serving dishes that mainly focus on extravagant foie gras and mouth watering tasty steak menus served with black truffle sauce. So, rather than focusing on the dishes, Love Indonesia felt it was fair to shift the spotlight to their cocktails and wine instead.
The mix of traditional and slightly modern facade of Metis, overlooks a beautiful padi field and reminds you that you are on the beautiful island of Bali. With both an open-air and interior dining, Metis is a perfect environment to try some cocktails for both lunch and dinner. The calmness is also a perfect stage for business meetings.
Their wine list is arguably the most comprehensive the island has to offer. Take your pick from a selection of South African, South American, Australian, New Zealand, German, Italian, and of course some of the best French wine. The choices of champagne are pretty impressive as well.
Metis's impressive bar offers a variety of top shelf spirits, and serves one of the most delicious Gingertinis ever, with a riotous combination of sweet pungent flavors, garnished with pink cured Japanese ginger. The organic ginger based cocktails go very well with the relaxing ambience. Pink Squirrel which is a rare find, but essential according to the cocktail bible, is also presented in the menu. This creamy coconut based drink is absolutely splendid and the extra grate of nutmeg on the top really makes this cocktail easy to drink.
To compliment your experience at Metis, finish it off with the Red Forrest, which is essentially a flour-less chocolate sponge cake with a topping of chocolate and vanilla whipped cream. Also embellished with Balsamic cherries with gelatin cherry cubes, it is just simply what one would call, beautiful.
Truly worth a visit, a second, third and so on
