Established in 1969 as a gyoza specialist, Osaka Ohsho is originated from Japan and nowadays has been known as a popular spot for Japanese-Chinese cuisine lovers. As for today, there are currently over 300 outlets worldwide, including Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, and now, Indonesia.

Located at new Lower Ground level of Plaza Senayan (this area used to be HERO supermarket), the area is quite hidden and doesn't get much exposure, especially after the area had been under construction for a while. Despite all that, we saw many Japanese workers came here for lunch and that's a good sign.

Osaka Ohsho, which translates to 'The King of Gyoza in Osaka' - is the destination for handmade gyoza (dumplings). Their gyoza is a mixture of cabbage, ginger, garlic and 3 kinds of pork wrapped in Osaka Ohsho's special wonton wrapper, then skillfully grilled to a deliciously golden brown crisp on one side yet tantalizingly moist within. If we visit Osaka Ohsho's outlet, eating their gyoza has become a mandatory thing to do!

First thing first, they have 3 options for their infamous gyozas, including: Pork Gyoza (IDR 35,000), Chicken Gyoza (IDR 35,000), and Prawn & Chicken Gyoza (IDR 40,000). We opted for the pork ones, and each set consists of 5 pieces. The gyoza pieces are plump and beautifully grilled, they have nice crust and super juicy pork inside!
